Lake Tahoe - 2005
Do you dream of frolicking in the snow with Armenians? You
had your chance!
The 2005 AGBU-YPNC Tahoe
Trip was truly a winter wonderland and the weather was the
main topic of discussion for the weekend. We returned to the
large house on Marshall Trail with the oversized deck and,
yes, the Jacuzzi. The scenery was breathtaking as was the
adventure of maneuvering our cars on the slippery roads!
Everyone arrived safely on Friday and most decided to hit the
sack early. Unlike last year when the weather was warm and
sunny and most passed on skiing, nearly everyone decided to
hit the slopes for a chance of skiing or boarding on some
fresh powder.
From the onset Saturday
morning it was clear that snow was coming but that didn’t stop the
brave skiers and boarders from taking to the slopes. Although the
skies were clear for a little while, the white stuff soon came
down with a fury! Everyone enjoyed a different skiing experience
this year before regrouping at the house to warm up and soak in
the Jacuzzi. Once again we had a large group for our traditional
BBQ and pilav dinner and of course ice cream and banana splits for
dessert. Afterwards, the group headed out to test its luck at the
casinos and do a little dancing.
We wrapped up the weekend with
Sunday breakfast in South Lake Tahoe before making the trek home,
yes, in the snow! This was the most adventurous, beautiful and
fun Tahoe weekend to date. If you weren’t able to join us this
year, don’t miss the weekend next year!
